Flowers and Colour

We have just hung our current 'Spotlight On' exhibition and feel sure you will enjoy it. It is a collection or recent contemporary paintings of floral subjects, using Acrylic and Ink, by Jan Soper. Jan is new to the gallery, and this bold, colourful and dynamic body of work, is her first solo exhibition. In addition to her framed work, we have on display a selection of unframed, mounted originals.

Raffle Winner

Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets for my watercolour of Castlerigg in the Snow. The raffle was drawn today, and the winning ticket was a green number 95(AD3C  MH4W). The winner has been notified. Thankyou to every one.

ALL FIRED UP

Quirky animal ceramics, by Simone Louise Noble.

Simone is Diane's eldest daughter and we are both delighted, and excited, to host this exhibition of her first pieces.

Simone has this to say of her new direction -

'Having taken time out from my job as an estate manager to raise a family I found myself with too much time on my hands once my son started school.
I've always dabbled in art, mainly watercolours and whilst looking at getting back into painting I stumbled across a ceramics evening class which then led to me undertaking a part time art and design course at Cleveland college of art. The course introduced me to textiles, glass and jewellery as well as working with clay.
Now knowing clay was the direction I wanted to take I set up my own studio with kilns at home where I am embarking on a journey of self teaching, experimenting with various different clays, hand building techniques and surface decoration.
My work is largely Influenced by animals and sea life, sometimes
with a surreal twist.'

Acrylics by Anne Butler

We are delighted to welcome a new artist to the gallery. Anne works in a free and loose style using clear, bright colour to produce her fresh and dynamic Acrylics on Canvas. Working from her studio in Dumfriesshire, her work is so clearly inspired by the beautiful landscape she is fortunate to be surrounded by.

This is a charity working in genuine partnership with local communities in the developing world to help improve children's access to healthcare, education, and child rights and protection.

We strongly believe that all children should have the opportunity to unlock their full potential.

Hannah is completing her final year of an Art Degree Course at De Montfort University, Leicester,
