The Other Pottery

Gillian is an experienced and qualified designer within the field of ceramics and has worked both in industry and as a sole potter for 40 years. Inspiration for her work is taken from nature and designs are crafted in a variety of clays and using a range of techniques.

Her ceramics are handmade either on a potter’s wheel, coiled or press moulded. Then they are drawn and cut and later painted and glazed. Porcelain and stoneware both have a high firing of 1,260 degrees C. The metallic lustre firing is another 760 degrees C.
